Airlines, Charters, FBOs

Our Polar Pilots group isn’t a commercial operation, so we don’t offer charter or scheduled service.  There are a number of carriers you can talk to about both scheduled and charter service in the Baffin Region.  Here’s some contact information:

Charters: Air Nunavut, Canadian Helicopters, and  Kenn Borek Air offer charters to many areas of the Eastern Arctic.  Contact info below.

 

 

Canadian North offers jet service (B-737) between Iqaluit/Ottawa and Iqaluit/ Rankin Inlet/ Yellowknife/ Edmonton. They’ve recently added other Baffin Island destinations using DASH-8 aircraft., along with flights to the Kitikmeot region. Airline designator5T.

First Air offers jet service (B-727; B-737) between Iqaluit/Ottawa/ Montreal and Iqaluit/Rankin Inlet/ Winnipeg/ Yellowknife/Edmonton. They also fly scheduled turboprop service to many Eastern Arctic Communities (HS-748, ATR42-300).  First Air’s airline designator is 7F.   They have a long history in the north.

Scheduled service: Canadian North and First Air connect with Air Canada and provide Aeroplan flights/points.

FBOs: Air Nunavut, Canadian Helicopters, First Air, and Kenn Borek have maintenance bases in Iqaluit.   See below for Iqaluit contact information:
